Rimu surfing at Sumner Beach!!!!!!

On Monday 25th March me and my class of year 7 and 8 went to Sumner  beach. The reason why went to the beach is because we were surfing for the William Pike challnge. We borrowed wetsuits from our coaches and went to the grass outside and practised how surfing would be in real life.

Here is a video how I surferd.
Here is a poem also.

I can taste the salty waves as they fall into my mouth like a tree drinking water.

I can feel the force of the salty waves hitting me every minute I walk.

I can see the waves falling down on to me like a tsunami,

I can smell the salty wave coming in to my nose like i'm sniffing very tasty food

The night with William Pike

On Tuesday the hole of rimu class was in the kitchen. We were playing, chatting and laughing, until man named William pike was standing in the hallway all of the boys and girls looked out the door. Then we were called to come and put your dishes on the table, so we did. My dad finally arrived, with the rest of my family. Then it was time to eat so me and Jesse stood by the table because we baked banana cake with strawberry icing. My mother and father took a piece of cake and said it was delicious, while they were coming there were other tables with tomato soup and etc.

After we had dinner we all had to go to the Wharehui and meet William pike. Once the parents and rimu got comfortable William pike started to talk about his story. He talked about him climbing Mt Ruapehu and introducing his mate he met in university. I was amazed about his story.

In conclusion William pike told me community service and his website we you would do community service work or doing a hobbie you like. He also told us about overcoming his fears and keeping confident every day.
He told us to keep healthy and proud and never be scared.

Point-of-view essay

our writing task was to write a short essay about a book called Wonder. We had to find quotes from the book or texts to back up our thoughts about this book.

Example 1: I think its first person because it said
“I have lots of classes”, when he was at his new school.
Example 2:I think it’s in first person because “I did not  say anything”, is related to the book “Wonder”.

Example 3:I think it’s in first person because in the beginning of the book wonder, he said

In conclusion, These were all of the quotes and text that backed up my theory

1)Self portrait

2)Place of significance

3)Symbol or pictures of culture
